The working sketch for a badge for
Jenorafeuer.
I'm struggling a little bit with the perspective--I LOVE the effect the lettering gives to the building but feel it pulls the rest of the pic out of correct perspective. The viewer is on top of a building/in a helicopter or something looking from midway down. I know this means I should narrow the base of the building to less than the middle, but I feel the lettering might loose some effect. I'd rather the final composition of the badge look good then it be perfect in the perspective sense. I'd rather not mess with the figure in a way that takes away from it.

ooh, tricky! I would have a lot of troubles with this sujet, too!
try adding the view of the tower's rooftop, and adjust the angle of the street below. especially since it would cut the tower's corner this way.
which means, replace the point of the horizon, it should lay much higher. a bit above her elbow, I'd say...
very interesting. I have only done one macro many years ago, and it looked horrible. :P

Ooh, very nice in general.
Yes, the perspective does seem a bit off... I think it's mostly that the perspective seems to apply to the building but not to her. And doing double-ended perspective like you mentioned in the description can be difficult without resulting in a fish-eye look.
I do like the composition, though.

Thank you! I do have an idea for my second go, I think if I make some adjustments to both the figure and the building i can keep the composition. I also realized I need to fix the wire-posts to match the building's vertical lines regardless of how the final is drawn.
*nods* agreed, I don't want it fish-eyed. I think what I'm going to do is make it small and using a large piece of newsprint, map out the perspective lines. I need to make a hard choice--either the building perspective changes or the figure does =3

You're welcome, and thank you for the work so far.
Not much of an artist, as I haven't practiced drawing freehand much, but I do still remember some of my drafting classes back in University, so I've dealt with perspective before. Mid-structure perspective can be a mess because you effectively have two opposite vanishing points, both of which will be close to infinite distances unless you're really close to the structure.
Gah, been way too long since I actually dealt with this.
