I had a sudden flash of inspiration while I was offline the past couple of days: if Dogstar is supposed to be the furry answer to Superman, then what about his contemporaries, Wonder Woman and Batman?
The name and costume of "Knightowl" has been lurking in various forms in my sketchbooks for over a decade now. In fact, earlier in my gallery here is my most recent take on the concept as well as my first attempt to adapt it to anthropomorphic superheroes; the main differences were that it was female and feline. Now, c'mon...even on a world of anthos, if you're feline you don't NEED to dress scary. If you're a mouse, however...and what could be scarier from a mouse's perspective than an owl..?
The general look still needs work: I'm still uncertain how long a mouse's snout would be in comparison to a dog or cat (or human), and I can't remember how I got the boots to look right before. The concept, however, feels sound...besides, when was the last time we had a mouse as a hardcore badass, anyway?
Heh...isn't one of Batman's derogatory nicknames "Winged Rat?"
