This might not look like much but its kinda cool and will look pretty spanky once its finish sanded and stained!
The brown thing on the bottom is a Leslie taken out of an old boat anchor (as in a non-Hammond organ). This is the Leslie unit I have been using for my Hammond M3 which can be heard here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4053449/
What a Leslie is (for those who don't know) is a rotating horn that channels the sound coming from a speaker. This creates a Doppler effect and causes your ear to perceive a vibrato like effect and is the key to the sound produced by a Hammond organ.
Now, The thing on top is a amp cabnet I am building to replace the guitar amp (the body of which is visible in the photo) that used to simply be placed on this thing anytime I wanted to use it. This was HUGELY problematic as it wasn't well sized to fit on top of this thing and therefore didnt seal well, but also because like most guitar amps the controls were on the front meaning they were inaccessible while the thing was in use.
This new box will house a fender deluxe 112 plus and a Carvin British series 100 watt 12" speaker with a reverb tank. all the controls will face upward when the amp is being used for the Leslie and be behind it should I ever want to just play though it. This will make the thing easier to use and because it will be sized to fit the Leslie there will be less leakage.
another mod I am planning for this little guy is the installation of a foot controlled variable resistor via a modded sewing machine pedal that will allow me to infinitely very the speed at with the horn spins.
Pretty shnazzy no?
Planning on moving this to scraps soon.

Hah ! I shall henceforth call Conns/Rodgers/Wurlitzer(electronics)/General toaster nastyness boat anchors ;3
Love what you have done with it, is it one of those geet big Styrofoam things that look like a cheese wheel ?
Im not a Leslie type and much prefer the sound through a PR40, but this is quite nice :3

Ah yes, what did you steal it from ?
If you had been over in the UK I'd have been happy to have sent you a set of horns I have in store at the Cinema I play for, don't want them, nor have the need for them with the Compton Theatre Organ we have in there.
Ever heard of a Hammond Lafleur ? I've recently come into possession of one, basically the Cinema organ version of the Concert model E *Ye olde hammonde*
Nice to see an M3 used well anyway, I've never played any of the M's, plenty of T500s and the larger console models (B3,C3,RT3,X66,Concord)

Be glad it's not an Aurora ... *grins*

Well, the Leslie and amp came with the M3 I got from the guy that chopped it. I'm not sure what he stole it from. To be honest I am a super noob when It comes to organs.
I know nothing outside of the B3, C3 and the M and L series stuff. What I do well Is woodworking :) Sounds like you might have a cool instrument there though.
I actually have an aurora XD I have used it in more recordings than my M3.

They don't sound bad at all if you use them appropriately. Its easier to get a pipe organ sound out of it, recorded pipe organ that is, since there is nothing that can compare to being in a room
with one. They don't have the same scream as a tone wheel though.
