Native to southeastern Australia and Tasmania, wallabies have been introduced – or have escaped captivity - in New Zealand and Europe in small groups, places where the climate is similar to their homeland. There are wild populations inhabiting small islands in Scotland and Ireland, and small forested areas in England, France, Germany, and Austria. Yes, while there are no kangaroos in Austria, there are most definitely some wallabies! :D
