I wonder if it's perhaps more of an argument over whom gets possession of the cool spear and the bird is just wondering why they can't discuss like sensible adults rather than just going into a grappling contest, so maybe a timeout will be called.

He could try snaking his way out. But he might be too much in a bind to do that. Biting could solve things, but that would probably make the solution way too permanent. A better solution could be to ~~use his steely pecs~~ slam his body on the floor, except what receives the impact is the snake.
