The knight looked down at the timid creature before him. He had never seen someone so tiny and yet so powerful. He wanted to pull her closer until their bodies couldn't be told apart. He moved a small tendril of hair away from her eye and held her face in his hand.
"Did you know that you are insanely beautiful?" His voice was filled with so much longing and pain that he was afraid it would scare her.
It did scare her. She had never heard anyone call her beautiful with such passion and love before. Unsure how to respond, she just looked up at him with big pleading eyes as if she was giving him an invitation. She wanted him. She wasn't quite sure what this feeling was but she had to have him, all of him. The warmth that she felt starting from his hand caressing her cheek to the one that was placed gently on the small of her back, was more than she could bare.
Seeing the look on her face made him lose all senses and he quickly bent down taking hold of her lips with his. The sudden impulse scared him so much so that he pulled back and whispered so softly that it was hard to make out, "sorry."
Vanille was caught off guard by the sudden kiss but more so of him pulling away so quickly. Without thinking she brought her hands up to his face and pulled him back down for another kiss. This time it was deep and full of passion. Their tongues battled for dominance as they explored every inch of each others mouths.
After what felt like forever they broke apart, a small strand of saliva connecting the two. Both of them were breathing heavily, faces bright red.
"K-katsu," Vanille managed to say his name in a very soft shaky breath.
"Gods do you know what you do to me?" He responded in a deep raspy voice. He placed his forehead against hers, forcing her to look into his eyes. He felt his pulse quicken as her arms started to wrap around his neck. Her pleading gaze made him clench his jaw and release her. "We should stop."
Freighted that she did something wrong, she quickly reached out and grabbed the bottom of his shirt. "Kat...Katsuki, please. I'm sorry if I did something wrong. I-I didn't..." Her words trailed off as she felt tears forming in her eyes. Why...why was she like this.
"Damn it," Katsuki mumbled under his breath. He quickly grabbed her chin and forced her to look up at him. "It's not that you did anything bad. If anything I'm at fault here. I don't want to cause trouble for you. I should have controlled myself better." He let go of her and took a step back.
In a small burst of rage, Vanille spat out, "Dumbass! If I cared about that shit, I wouldn't have kissed you back." She felt the tears overflow and rain down her cheeks. She couldn't help herself and quickly tried to wipe them away, but they just kept coming.
"I...I thought....I thought..." She couldn't manage to get out a sentence between sobs. She felt her whole world crashing down at that moment and just wanted to get out of there as fast as she could. Her eyes darted to the door of the small study and she began to walk hastily towards it, all the while wiping tears.
Katsuki couldn't let her leave like that, he had to make her understand. Quickly reaching out he grabbed her wrist and spun her around to face him. His heart ached seeing her face all wet with tears and her eyes swollen. "I want to protect you with my life. I would give anything for you, Vanille." He scanned her face and tenderly bent down, kissing the tears away from her eyes. "My princess, I love you. I have for a while. I just know that it won't be easy for you to love such a creature as myself. I'm just a knight." He showered her face with kisses, wrapping his arms around her shoulders and pulling her close to him. He let her cry into his chest and stroked her hair gingerly.
Vanille couldn't believe it. Her sad sobs turned into ones of happiness and hope. She clung to him, clawing at his shirt trying to pull herself closer to him. She looked up at him and through blurry eyes responded with three simple words, "I love you."
