Another pic from back in 2003. Khann, a lion chief wearing a native american headress. ( similar to my DakkotaWolf headress pics.)

Yes. Mountain lions, also called pumas or cougars, are really big cats; they can be as big as and weigh as much as an adult human. They are formidable predators. Many of the wild horses that I have seen here in central Nevada have the unmistakable parallel backward/downward slanting claw marks on both sides of their haunches. So do some of my cows; the predator doesn't always win. Since lion hunting was banned in California (they aren't endangered, though), they are no longer afraid of humans and are now eating about one human per year. I carry a .44 magnum six gun in a fast draw rig when working my ranch. Lots of Native American lion stories.
If you Google "American Lion" you will discover that lions predated native Americans by several thousand years. :) Twenty-five per cent larger and heavier than our modern day lions, these felinoids would have been the ultimate in death-on-paws.

His eyes, his fur, his colors, and most especially his feathers are amazing. Your feathers are so real... amazing and beautiful. The outstanding becomes the astonishing...
