This happened in the Kaerwyn RP run by Jakkal. The particular plot was called "GodCon MMXXI". For some reason, gods lost their luggage when they attended, and they wound up in the hands of mortals.
Prince Ernestein Eidalgrit Grenfront vel Fridegmire II, who had his own issues was granted a necklace that gave him the power of the Leader of the Pack - a god of beasts and even familial bonds.
He formed his pack, but the more the powers were used, the harder he found himself maintaining a human form, eventually not even caring that much about the Chimeric abomination he became. But things would wear off, right?
...right?
Quite the contrary. He found the necklace vanishing, but his body remained. The instincts weren't there, but the memories were. What's more, the scars he placed on his arms and legs were now replaced with stripes in his fur pattern. A reminder of who he once was, and something that he will never escape from, but now he could no longer hide them with clothes that will no longer fit.
Now, the Reisenberg turned Beast begins his hunt. He looked for the Leader of the Pack - perhaps he could restore him to his human form, but alas and alack he could not. All the beast king could truly do was let him know that the path to walk was on his own.

This is probably one of my favourite pieces from Jakkal, and definitely not something I had "planned" for sure, but in creative group writing? You can never fully plan things out. I ultimately decided to make him a chimeric abomination of Lion, Mongoose, and bear. All of which are both predators that have social structures, or strong family bonds. (Notably, the banded mongoose - but also the Meerkat.) I do like ursines, yes, but this wasn't just personal appeal - there was a REASON to all of this.
He can still stand on his legs, he just leans over and find he can't run like this. He runs on all fours like a Charr.
