It's even better if you know that the Immigration and Nationality Act already requires ALL non citizens inside the US ( legally admitted aliens, permanent residents, and visitors) to carry their papers at ALL times as well as any additional identification such as passports, green cards, or border crossing cards, an to be prepared to present them to any immigration official ( which include a lot of cops in az trained under operation stonegarden) at any time for any or no reason. It been that way for more than three decades.

A cop asks you for your ID when they pull you over, and nobody has a problem with that. And if your not doing anything wrong you don't have anything to worry about.

My parents are legal immigrants in the 1950s ...spent a couple of weeks cooped up in the Immigration office building while their papers were checked and they got their medical checks.
Being US citizens was worth the wait.

My grandparents and several aunts and uncles on both my mother and father's sides as well from Asia all during the 1950s decade. They never moved back.

They were locked in quarantine while they got their medical shots and papers in order.

If only others care to wait in line like my family did... sigh.
