What ever could i be making? Fox? + buttons + miniature top hat= ???
I'll be adding much more to the hat, like a flower, and what have you. I was also thinking of having removable parts on the hat so i can change it out with my mood. That being said, i could use some help, im going all steampunk on this costume and i need to come up with some accessories, anyone have any ideas? Im already planning on making arm warmers, but what else should i look out for, or make?
*I've since added an elastic strap to the head for the moving jaw.

a pocket watch is mandatory. also, lots of polished brass/bronce/copper pieces all over the clothes. maybe a necklace with a fine brass chain and some strange thing made of watch cogwheels, watch hands, and feathers and a bird's skull... and a tiny ancient padlock, or the face of a little chestlock. you know, off some furniture piece and somesuch.
some bicycle manufactures used little brass etched emblems up until the 60's, maybe you can find something at a scrapyard.

I actually just got back from picking a few things up too. :D I picked up some flowers with ribbons, a large muted gold button, 2 smaller muted silver buttons with some sort of insignia on it, and some muted copper ribbon. I plan to search the house for a pocket watch as i may have one, if not i'll keep an eye out for one. ^.^

side note: model kit builders have Bare Metal Foil, which comes in aluminium (chrome), alu flat (brushed aluminium), brass (gold), and copper. very thin metal foil with adhesive backing, and it most likely lays onto very fine curves. it can be polished, too.
