I burned out this summer after taking 19 units and then summer school. I've been idly sketching mostly this summer, it's really sad. I am story boarding right now though.

It's not math, it's colour theory!

And the opposite of blue is orange, so you could argue blue and orange are together.

Mostly, it's primary. Nearly all my paintings this year have been primary colours.

Intriguing development of the Pluralisma as an aura per se. Were you perhaps going by the Indigo Lantern piece for that?

I was looking at Jon Foster paintings, some in which figures are outlined, and assumed the aura-outline could be used to pop the figure out and accessorize the idea of Pluralisma at the same time. :3

It's really a neat idea! I know the Lanterns always have that protective aura thing they do with their rings, so I think Strype might have used that for that piece as well, so I was curious to know if that had been where you'd gotten the idea. (It works for them, too!)
I do like it, regardless. :3

You probably have one of my favorite digital painting styles. I'm generally not at all fond of seeing 'digital brush strokes' but you always pull it off nicely enough that it feels like the image would be wrong without them. YOU'VE CONVERTED ME.

I agree—I definitely see rhythm! Quitting "undo" was the best thing I ever did for digital stuff.

This is another update. The finished version will have the weapons and tattoos.

I'm sorry for the lack of updates. I'm currently at the mercy of my school's computer lab's irregular hours for doing Photoshop work.

The hair is awesome and the xpression on his face is pretty amazing too. The highlight around the character reminds me pretty heavily of grafitti. I am fond of that sort of outline technique, though you do it in a very interesting way. With the hair it actually becomes a light source. Fascinating. I love the background too, it reminds me of wings.
