So I finished playing Sonic Colors Ultimate, and while I don't plan on doing a review or something like that of it anytime soon since I already did a review of the original, I thought I'd still voice some of my opinions of it here (also, to those of you wondering, I played the Switch version)...

So the general consensus I've heard online is... Colors Ultimate is bad (which is basically the Internet's consensus for everything, I know), and there have also been a lot of people pointing out visual glitches and whatnot to help prove their point. I'll be honest though, the visuals glitches and occasional lag were really the only semi-consistent issue I had with Ultimate at all, and I honestly moreso pin that on the Switch having loading issues rather than the game itself. I'm also fully aware about the whole flashing light thing, but that didn't happen a single time I played the game, and it's been pretty much confirmed that that's an emulator issue, so... you really can't blame the game for that one either. The only visual issue that REALLY bugged me though is how sometimes with the lighting and colors coupled with the distance between Sonic and the camera, I would occasionally lose track of where he was and be unable to see him, but... that might have been a me problem since I have vision problems in general and sometimes have issues differentiating colors from eachother. Also, pretty much every issue I had with Ultimate regarding the gameplay was an issue I already had with the original, and there are a couple things that Ultimate added that I really like such as the medals and the stuff in the shop (for the first time ever, you can play as Sonic on fire, hence why he's on fire in the image above :3), and I also really like some of the new music and the pre-rendered cutscenes actually look really nice, so overall, I still think Ultimate is an okay game. It might be a little bugged and they might not have added as much as they could have to make the original better, but it's still an alright re-release in my opinion. As for whether or not I would recommend this one over the original though, I would say it's up to what console/consoles you own. If you have a Wii or DS, then go play the original if you want, but if you have one of the current gen consoles, then get Ultimate.
