“Alright Snow everything looks good. Oh looks like your due for a tetanus shot, let’s take of that”
Ember know the risks but is brave enough to try and hold me back when I want to run away.
Based of the real events of my checkup last month. (I wasn’t diapered, and Ember wasn’t there – but only because I wasn’t expecting a shot.). I am terrified of needles and its better if I have time to mentally prepare for them. Having a plushie there helps too, which is why one will come next week for my blood test.

I hate needles too, but I've gotten so adjusted to them that the fear is just about gone. I can't leave the doctor's office WITHOUT them getting a little bit of blood. Still don't like it though...
Two things I've learned: never look at the direction of where the needle is coming from. If they're coming with that cart on the left, look to the right. If they're coming from the right, look left. If you can't tell, look up at the ceiling.
And that pinch. I know that's the horrible part, but once that happens it's over. Feel free to squeak, suck in through your teeth, whatever (I wouldn't scream at the top of your lungs though; that'd probably make it worse...). Once that's all over, treat yourself with a cookie, a game, or whatever you feel like.
