Before "The Lion King" and "Balto", it was "Oliver and Company" that was my favorite cartoon, and the charismatic villain with a golden heart Dodger was my first crash. He was confident, humorous and atmospheric and inspiring in his songs. Dodger could have done the right thing and he bravely rushes to Oliver's aid and fights against the Dobermans (and yes, once cartoons were not afraid to show death and violence scary and dark. And yes, I like to ship Dodger with Rita).
I was attracted by the atmosphere of New York, attracted by a certain gloom and at the same time soulfulness. I loved Jenny and Oliver's relationship. This childish simplicity, joint games and mutual understanding, which everyone is looking for in communication with their furry friend, attracted. On the other hand, Feigin and his pack of dogs were in opposition to high society. Poor, interrupted by petty thefts, but friendly, bright and charismatic. As a child, I didn't even know if it was good that Oliver eventually left the gang and stayed with Jennifer.
