Whoa, super-retro! I guess reading about snail riders in an old Rifts book connected up with an old Fiend Folio favorite. (Cool, but makes little sense.)

It was one of those junior high campaigns so it was basically just a string of square rooms packed with my favorite stuff from the monster manuals.
If I remember right, they shot all its heads off with a crossbow and the most effective thing it did was curl up and play shrieker.
