Another old thing I did for

80-year-old Wanyao is a famous chef, and the father of Bao-Yu. Naturally, and specializes in Chinese cuisine, especially Sichuan dishes, but he can prepare many a dish from all over the world just as splendidly. He and his wife Chifei met and fell in love a very long time ago, fulfilling a promise to marry later on. Most of Wanyao and Chifei's children care for Chifei and help run and maintain the farm they live on. All of Wanyao's children and his wife love and respect him, as he's always been a great dad and husband, but the one who loves and looks up to him most by far is Bao-Yu. While her older sisters were dreaming of fashion and writing and many of her younger siblings put their focus on growing up to be good farm workers, Bao-Yu latched onto Wanyao and his cooking early on and never let go. Wanyao passed along everything he knew to his eager daughter, watching her grow into a talented cook, eventually heading off to culinary school in Beijing and then became a successful chef traveling the world and later opening her own restaurant. Wanyao is still active in the cooking business himself, and when he's not on the job or at the family farm, he likes taking time off to fly out to Toronto and visit his daughter and see firsthand how she's doing.
