I had seen pictures of "Legendz" characters for awhile. Finally I caught the series online and saw it was yet another "Product first" cartoon.
Its funny when I was a kid there was so many cartoons with no toy lines whatsoever. Now some of the cartoons are just full length commercials.
Sill I liked alot of the awesome fan art put out on the net.

There's little focus on product placement, and zero ads for it mixed into the pages. The back of each volume has character stats. The storyline is way more mature than the anime. More like mid to upper teens rather than the apparently 6-8 year old focus of the anime. There are also only 4 volumes so it's not a crazy huge pile of books that keep piling up.
With how utterly blatant the merchandising nods are, and how many jokes are made about toy companies and 'monster' game merchandise, always gave me the sensation the show was poking fun at their own genre-- lampooning how such shows drive toy sales.
That aside-- pretty damn rendition of those two! :)
