The Library existed for longer than anyone can remember, and just as long it was guarded by The Librarian. Nowadays not much people left dreaming of romantic notions of putting the world on its knees with the dark forbidden knowledge, and so the maw of The Librarian haven't been splashed in blood in a long, long while. Though, they still can give a stern talking-down to anyone curious enough to poke their noses in The Library's doors, and I must say they enjoy it quite a bit
