Why is it so hard to find the Hostess Peach Pies? Those are my favorite, and I'm more likely to find a lemon (another rare) than peach. tell me why, Buddha!

I think it might actually be easiest to make lemon and apple pies; that it's a technical cooking question I don't know about. Sort of like the way there are fig newtons and apple newtons, but no other form of fruit-flavored newton cookie thing.

Raspberry and apple newtons exist, but they are more expensive and the package is smaller.

This very much does win. And yes, I love those things, but I won't eat 'em anymore; they're like little trans-fat bombs. I wish to live!

I laugh again and again each time I look at this. It distills the perfect nonsense logic of Hostess ads, a whole world of its own kind of Zen where there is no need for "Mu" because fruit pies are the correct answer to everything.

What really gets me with the Hostess ads isn't how ridiculous it is that you can easily halt murderous supervillains, determined criminals, and world-threatening plots with the distraction of delicious snacks. I mean I'd find a lot of free Hostess pies to be slightly distracting, maybe the Penguin or Fin Fang Foom or whoever feels the same way?

But what gets me is how haphazard distributing the fruit pies/twinkies/etc is in those comics. It's not like "Oh no, Hulk is rampaging through the city, let's go hand him a golden apple pie with real fruit filling" or even "Let's bounce an apple pie off his noggin and see if he notices." it's always sort of this random, throw fruit pies up into the air like confetti.

OMFG, this is beautiful. A pitch-perfect parody. I've got a huge pile of old Harvey comics and there were Hostess ads in almost every one of them, showing how all of life's problems can be solved by throwing preservative-loaded pastries at them.
