I'm frightened by the promises of experts about increase in the frequency of heat waves
I spent half the summer just trying to escape the heat, and if next summer will be hotter, probably all my productivity will come down to drawing crooked doodles about heat complaints ( ´ω` )

Oini's Page of Summer Heat Hate?

But, I totally understand your concerns. It gets absolutely hot and humid around here and I fear the day I have to replace the AC unit with one for a bigger place JUST to compensate. Not friendly to the pocket book, not friendly to my electrical use, and definitely not friendly to the environment when that's what we NEED to do to start solving this.

I've had two air conditioners for decades, neither is installed or to my knowledge, even works. I survive with big fans in rooms where I pend much time (bedroom, living room. basement). This summer my basement fan stopped working; I had to take it completely apart, clean and oil it, reassemble. Works great... now.
Ugh, can't blame you, I lived a long time with no air conditioning. My way to cope was take a cold shower then just lay in bed on a towel, still dripping, to let the evaporation cool me off, just as you do up there. It helped that my bedroom was always cool, facing a building up close, so no sun roasting it.
When I had my own house I never needed to use or even install air conditioning. That's one of the benefits of the clothes-free naturist way of life. If it was really warm all I needed was a fan, or maybe work on projects in the basement workshop where it was cooler. Unfortunately where I live now I don't have such freedom for practicality.
