Here's a little Table Top rpg story for your guys ~
---
For years, the temple had been cursed by a dark magic that kept the followers of the Sun Goddess away. The halls and nearby structures of the divine ground were crawling with undead. The nearest city rulers saw no use in sending capable forces to cleanse the place. Why would they care about a minor divinity in their land?
By chance, there was something inside that the little party of four needed. A relic to help enchant a dagger. So they headed there, hoping to find what they needed. A gold idol, an object, a tool. Nothing more.
When they reached the temple, it was darkened over by heavy unatural clouds. Their goal was initially to get the relic, but perhaps they could clear the clouds as well? So they headed for the middle of the temple, discreet and careful. They found the large mirror, aimed at the sky. Like a big bowl to collect sunlight. But today it was grey, and it had been for years now. Dusty and silent. Nothing stopped them from reaching it.
The little halfling rogue turned half cat for her stealing hands knelt on the large bowl to pray the goddess. Her patron. But her words seemed to prove unworthy and her small praying charm exploded, sending her away from the mirror and into the feet of her companions. That is when the undead started to swarm. They came from all the entrances, windows and doors of the circular room. As her companions started to defend their lives, the little halfling stayed on her knees, shocked by the harsh denial of her divinity.
The fight continued and as the undead came closer, one of her companions backed up to protect her while she gathered courage and the words to try again.
As the fighting raged, a dove landed on her hands. The divinity's champion creature, whispering words of encouragement. And so she prayed, and as the companion that came back to defend her fell, like a last second miracle, the light poured into the bowl. Turned to ash the undead were! The light engulfed the room to blind them all and warm their hearts. For the pray was heard, and raising the dove turned idol, the little halfling girl became their savior and no lives were lost that day.
Instead they found a new bond, and a stronger connection to their own capabilities.
I decided to sketch a scene from my last D&D game because it was too epic and I want this little halfling girl to shine in her moment x)
(my character nearly died but he's fiiiiiine)
