The nanobots also work in unison as countermeasures against scanners, relfecting light and radiant energy off the coating in very precise ways to make the one within appear as organic inside, as they do outside. Even an old-school X-ray image would show the false image of bones within.

Nobody could possibly be the wiser that Phobos is a machine in this form, taking the shape of a red-pelted Corsairian with quite a bit of mass on her hips and chest, as she likes. Who knows what kinds of plans she has, now that she's complete...
