I mean, if a dragon's wings are big enough for lift, then simply opening them should at least be enough to parachute a short fall. I know flight isn't instant, but they can still be used to guide and control themselves while going down assuming good weather. Flight isn't instant and perfect for any creature, but it is still a funny concept to me.
Hehe and that's the whole silliness of the situation. A dragon with wings being afraid of some rocks and high places :D

Thus its a little reference to irl situation when dear Rasta was visiting the drake and pulled out on pretty hardcore hiking in local mountains x3

I agree with the floof here, Rast is over complicating stuff. Adding a bit of exaggeration to this real life feature can create a lot of silly ideas for art. Besides, Rast is a goof :D
As for the gryphons... well I still do have soft spot for them ^^
