Peep, my son, officially started his Freshman year at, what I had long known to be, Bel Air High School!
Within the first two weeks, he has already achieved far more than I ever did throughout all of my High School years! He is getting good grades, making new friends, attending varsity football games, and remaining responsible about wearing a mask in these times that COVID-19 has executed its ‘Delta Attack’.
***
Most people are familiar with Will smith’s breakout role in ‘The Fresh Prince Of Belair’. Well, as you all have known me now for over 13 years, it was only natural to take his name, Peep, and the name that I’ve heard the High School referred to as, ‘Belair’, and put it all together to make The Fresh Peep Of Belair!
***
I wish I could physically see my son as he starts in this phase of his life’s journey. High School, despite how I allowed myself to ill-believe that I was “Just like everyone else” and doomed myself to falling behind on many of my classes while enduring bullying and Cystic Acne so bad that my glasses would not even fit on my face, was still when I came to acquire my full love and appreciation for writing, Yoshi, and how to make some of the most ridiculous things into the most exciting stuff you’d have ever heard of!
Peep, despite the challenges of living with divorced parents and COVID-19, is thriving in High School, accepted by his peers, and rocking grades that I had lost been able to acquire in my final grade of Elementary School. He also does all this because he wants to and not as a result of me forcing him to.
***
Peep was 21 months old when I first joined FA on September 3rd, 2008. I thank all of you for your friendship and for helping me to embrace who I truly am so I can make sure Peep never feels any shame, sadness, and/or isolation for being who he wants to be.

Aw this is cute and cool art! :3 It turned out great, and super nice of them to draw him sitting on a throne all cool and stylish with yoshis and cute faded things in the background, it sure works for him! And glad that he's doing alright in school. High school is a big thing, and while some major interests hit in middle school (for me, yoshis!) and we have nostalgic things we loved in elementary school (like SNES and N64 games for me again hehe) high school is a huge step in who we become as an adult. We find our interests, make relationships, mature, have good and bad times, and walk out at the end of it an adult, pretty much! It's weird. The four years are long, drag on, but after feel so fast. But it's where you make friends and memories you remember for life. I'm glad he has a good dad around to help make the time better. :3
*Snugs* Thank you, Oxnard. Your words mean a lot as, well, you have been around for my adventures as a Daddy Duckers since prior to Peep turning 2! (Kazootles does time fly by!)

I will never forget when Peep thought you were a real hamster that worked with me at my insurance job. He enjoyed you also giving him the opportunity to do some online gaming. For me, this really was special as, by the time Peep was really into video gaming, I had lost all my physical eyesight. So you playing with him, as he knew you well for how I shared how we were a great team of creative pals, was very special.
Overall, I would not be able to be the dad I am today without you being a big part of keeping me from giving up on my creativity and interests. So, perhaps, I'll come to give you the honorary title of 'Uncle Oxnard'. ;)

You and me both. Perhaps you feel the same that it was more 'Surviving' High School over enjoying it?
What really matters is making it through and finding places and faces who we can talk and relate with. Peep has that in his High School and I think it is fantastic to see what being 'liked' is like compared to being the ugly freak I was made out to be and felt like. :)

You and Doodle are both a terrific artistic pair. I am so thankful I got to see your styles, which are still growing, before I lost the rest of my eyesight.
Peep is doing well and really enjoys the friends and fun of High School. The school part, like most, is yucky. However he is achieving maximum levels of fun and friendship. I could not be happier.
***
It's also worthy to note how, as Peep is getting older, I refer to him as 'The Rooster'. I know the song has a very different meaning, but I will often play 'Rooster' by "Alice In Chains" to help Peep remember that he is able to overcome anything that life may throw at him. :)

<LoL!> Yep, yep, yep! However, being my son, he'll always be my Peep.

Thanks for being so patient with me, Saphy. I never knew just how much work it would be to get a house for Peep and my mom to share. Much of the work was getting people to properly communicate and, well, communication really broke down in September. Fortunately everything worked out and, hopefully, things are going to calm down from here.
***
I am going to try and go through my backdated Submissions in a Last-In First-Out (Working backwards.). However I will gladly look at anything you would like to me to see more sooner than later. :)

...And I'm still working to bring the full plan into fruition. :(

I am deeply sad for how I have just 'dropped off the face of the Earth' with you. I've only recently began to see why it happens and how I need to slow down my thoughts when I have so much RL stuff that needs done at the same time.
***
I value our friendship and, so long as you will still have me as your friend, look forward to when my responses are much closer and frequent.

Peep was very happy with this, too. I just knew Doodle would hit this one out of the park. :)

I cringe at how it has taken me over a month to reply to this. Though it is a reminder of how, sometimes, you really do need to take a deep breath, relax, and prioritize what needs to be done. Worrying about being everywhere all at once is bad on both the mind and body.

Awesomesauce :)
No worries, Yosh. You've got to take care of yourself first, as no one's gunna do it for ya, and slowing down is a good thing sometimes. I had a cousin who I knew was always out there doing awesome things, even though we seldom heard from him, and I tend to think of people who I know are very busy the same way.
Hope you're well ^^

I thank you for all your patience and support, Wayward. It means a lot and, as with other friends, takes away one of the greatest stresses I have. This, of course, being how my dealings with RL situations have kept me from feeling comfortable and able to share in all the discussions and artwork being done.

I never want to be a 'Bad Friend'. I want people to trust in how they can 'implicitly' rely on me. Life may challenge me, but it is only a delay that makes me more determined to do everything right so I can get back to all my pals. *Snugs*

Friendship is truly magic when it comes to big changes in our lives. Especially when you leave the super drama filled world of Middle School for the super ultra mega drama world of High School.

Peep has definitely taken well to High School. He has made a lot of new friends and is getting invited to High School football games. He seems to hang out with mostly girls and, well, nothing wrong with that. Especially as he just wants to be their friend over trying anything that tends to be linked with High School kids.
***
How big was your High School? I came from a class that spanned kids from towns as far away as 20 miles in any direction. Even then, it was not a super populated school.
Peep, on the other hand, attended one of two Middle School's that merged into a single High School that, if you call in, you have to know the precise building they have your kid in. Each building has its own attendance office! Kazootles!

yeah my high school was pretty small my 2001 class was only 200 students but at that time it was the biggest class but yeah I was lucky to have my friend by my side in high school oh as for how big the high school was we had the big mane building and like 3 smaller ones for the other teachers to teach
And it is now my turn to apologize as, along with many other good friends, I have fallen behind on what you have shared as a result of having to put out multiple fires in order to not have things fall apart.

It is hard to believe Peep is in High School. However it is nice to see that he has already done and become respected more in half a school year as a Freshman than I ever was able to do throughout all of High School. (The apple, thankfully, fell a good distance from the tree.)
***
Christmas is going to be rough given the whole 'custody' stuff. Though, as I do not get peep this Christmas, I do hope to have time to catch up on a lot of things while I'm loafing around at my sister's house. :)
