Black-Flanked Rock-Wallaby (Timelapse in description)
Watch me draw this here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcJ1El…
The Black-flanked Rock-wallaby (also known as ‘warru’ by the Traditional Owners in the APY lands of northern South Australia) was formerly widespread and common throughout the ranges of northern South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia. Black-flanked Wallabies are threatened by changes to the way that fire is managed and introduced cats and foxes (information courtesy of Monarto Zoo website: shorturl.at/hqIO7).
In 2007, when numbers dropped below 200 in the APY Lands, the Warru Recovery Team was formed to help save the precious species from extinction.
