He used to be afraid of the dark, but got his cutie mark when he realized the dark had never really been something to fear. Now, he helps others get over their own fears. Things that others tend to be afraid of hold a special place in his heart. Naturally, his magic is black/shadowy smoke, and he has a reputation among those who don't really know him as a scary vampire/monster of some sort who lives in a haunted house with his snakes and spiders and bats.
