"We were at 800 meters, we had no need to fear their flak, as our ground forces had nearly full control of the city and the suburbs so what little was thrown at us was either inaccurate or too little to do any real damage to our planes, so we flew low to get better hits. At those altitudes we could see the individual buildings and even wrecks of vehicles on the roads, fires overtaking buildings and the bombed out streets below, the only thing we couldn't do was smell it, not over the oil, metal, and guns inside the bomber. Our fighters suddenly broke from formation, I didn't see it happen but I heard it, their engines revving up and flying away, that could only mean one thing, fighters. Although the flak in area had been mostly subdued their fighters still operated out of airfields to the East and posed a threat to us. I heard on the intercom from our pilot, "What is that?" our bombardier joined in asking "What is what?" "Those aircraft, they're fast as all shit." The thumping of cannon and machinegun fire had started, our fighters engaging theirs, you could tell ours from theirs as our escorts' had a center mounted 33mm cannon that was slow to fire but devastating when hit. I heard our top gunner call it out "Fighter, direct left, high, coming in fast." I checked my safety and racked my machinegun, the charging handle slammed back forward as I tightened my hands on the spade grips. That's when I started hearing it, a howl like a demon or monster from my right. The rapid bursts of cannon filled the air. I clenched, we were the lead plane, always the first target, I prepared to get riddled with holes or to simply stop living, but instead tracers flew by face at about 50 meters, the number 3 plane had burst into flames, long trails of fire streamed from both engines as the tail was split off and the left wing after engine flew off. That's when I saw it, a plane unlike I'd ever seen before, no propellers, fast as lighting, and armed to the teeth, the Suns and Ho'Nok clearly visible on the fuselage. It looked almost like a shark had been given wings. We had been warned of a new type of new fighter the E'Fo'Nans were to be fielding in the near future but we just didn't know when. We were told it was jet powered and easily 100kmh faster than anything we had, but it wasn't invincible, slower in a turn and low range, it was made as a interceptor and a knowledgeable pilot would be fine against it. But those were for the fighters, we were bombers, slower, larger, heavier, we had no way to fight them off with out more guns or larger formations."

So this is the first update on the KN-31 Windbreaker skin that I am working for War Thunders Me-262A-1a/U1. I have worked on cleaning up the edges, I have revealed the yellow triangles which indicated fuel filling ports and a few foot holes for climbing up the airframe, added camouflage striping, the EIAF emblem on the waist of the plane, a pinup from my gallery, and the name of the pilot and His kill markers. The striping is made by an airbrush tool at about 50% hardness and is done in a way to show that it is not a "full job" done to add the break up effect and look more "hodgepodge". Even though it is the same markers and pinup for Fek’Jin Hun’An of the 283rd Fighter Squadron used on the KN-18 skin this is simply more of a place holder and in the future of during this project I'll change it to some random pilot.
