That world must be either super duper sensitive to the harm people do to each other, or extremely small. Imagine not being able to go to another country to escape something as sadly commonplace as a rape charge. There are countries in the world now where people are almost constantly getting raped; the idea that he couldn't even go to someplace like that to escape persecution over it, if only by hiding among all the other rapists is incredible.

It's just the way it happens sometimes. People who do the wrong thing can thrive, and no karma or other supernatural force comes along to balance it; at least not in this life. No reason to let them affect you more than they already have.

It might be pragmatic but I'm still consigning Aileen and her entire set of followers to imaginative dissassembly by nanites. I half like this and half hate this. Great that he not letting that horrible person love rent free in his head and doing is best to have the best life he can. But on the other hand I half hate this. Maybe is from personal experience ( I have not experience anything to this level but have had the bully experienced and people want you to forgive and make up dispite the bullies doing jack shit) and all the entitle family stories on you tube I listen, but I want action taken against people who do crap like this.

It really is the best revenge when you think about it.

If they're still your enemy, if they still hate you, then living well will drive them bonkers. It's kinda human nature to wish ill upon those you think are evil. Seeing an evil person happy and healthy? Really tends to piss people off.

But if they're not your enemy, then the two of you might reconcile. You might never be friends, but there's a possibility for forgiveness. And if nothing else, at least they probably won't bother you or try to sabotage your happiness.

It's kind of a win-win.
