Maybe that's just my impression of Merai as a character and placing said biases onto the picture. But it does look like she's demanding something of Drift there. "Come back here, boy. I need my shoe's washed clean of the mud your dirty paws splattered on them!" Okay, not THAT bad!

It's the conversation from "The Long Day". (I just forgot to tell Tincrash that the background should be inside a city.) She's talking with him about taurform.
To be honest, Matt, your anti-Meraism worries me. It makes me wonder what you would do if you disliked one of my characters or storylines as much as you dislike Merai and her storyline. (Admittedly, I feel somewhat of a hypocrite saying that, given that Hallan from TBP was written as a balance against Sue Carter and Jubatus.)

Hallan, as long as Raven was writing in Metamor Keep, the only thing I had done was introduce the character of Vinsah/Elvmere to be a balance against Merai. And then only because Merai was going to be a world-shaking character. And as for my dislike of Merai, it comes in two ways: her personality which just rubs me raw (and to be honest, so do a lot of Raven's characters), and what she was meant to do which was create a splinter faith following her ways which reminded me a bit of Mormonism to be frank (a comparison I don't think Raven intended but which is nevertheless there). Vinsah/Elvmere was to counterbalance this plan by drawing many into the Ecclesia instead, by showing another path.
And if I really didn't like one of your characters, I would probably keep it to myself and not try to step on your toes at all. It is very rare that there have been any characters I've not liked. Merai is one. Tessa (another of Raven's) is another. There are only a few others and none of them controlled by an active author. But Raven is first and foremost a friend whom I respect and love and I apologize for letting my dislike of her character sully your FA submission.
