Ok hopefully you understand this. I just threw it together under 20 minutes cuz people wonder how I ink in SAI so I put this together to show my settings. When it comes to the pressure sensitivity on your tablet I can't help you. So if you set SAI to these settings and are still having trouble with the sensitivity it MIGHT be your tablet settings. I can't help you with that!
But honestly just try things out until you find what you like! It also helps to draw really big. I draw at 8.5 by 11 inches and 300DPI Then when I'm done I shrink the image down.
So yea.
I draw with the pen (not the vector pen)
I have my smoothing set to 9
I have the size checked
I draw with a wacom intuos 2
And I draw at 300DPI at 8.5 by 11 inches
Also I apparently have an older version of SAI? so smoothing might be called something else for you!

Oh man thanks so much. I've been drawing with the stabilizer (what they call smoothing in my version) on 3 this WHOLE time, and I always thought that the crooked way my lines came out were my fault! Like, something I'd just have to get used to if i wanted to draw digitally, and it was always very frustrating.
So yeah, thanks a lot for this.
