Took a while for me to finally lay down a design for this thing, but... I like it. It fits pretty well to what I'd been imagining.

According to Gig's history, the scythe once belonged to a Dusknoir. Said Dusknoir was part of an elite strike team sent to take down Gig and his posse. Lets just say that attack didn't end too well for anyone.

Since "acquiring" the weapon, Gig carried it for the remainder of his reign of terror through the civilized world. The scythe is a spirit weapon which reacts to spiritual energies, so once Gig starts really pumping the juice into the weapon, it "awakens" and becomes super-charged. Basically, imagine the blade of the scythe about three times the depicted size and made entirely of focused electrical energy. Then image being struck by it. Yeah... not fun. XD

He loses the weapon during his ambush/betrayal, at which point it is taken by Layna. He could have taken it back after breaking out of his prison, but he chooses not to. When he left his old life behind, he left all of it behind.

The weapon comes back into the picture many, Many years later, during Vigilance's Quest, when the Luxio encounters and takes it back from Layna. For the remainder of my written Astray history, the scythe belongs to Vigilance and he carries it on his journeys.
