The eastern tapped the bottom of her chin, “Not yet! You need to make up for crashing here and drinking from the water without my permission. So, come sit by the waters with me.”
Nikoli sat himself down on the grass letting his legs stretch out, long enough to cover the entire “lake”. Not a moment later did the Eastern dragon plop herself beside him, letting her feet dip into the stream. Nikoli got a much closer look at her. He was scared of letting her get so close, such a small stature to his size, he was big by even draconic standards. She was a complete contrast in size, and Nikoli was worried he’s break her if he got too close.
“What’s your name? You haven’t told me yet” The eastern spoke up, breaking Nikoli’s concentration
“Oh, yes. My name is Nikoli, what’s yours?” the red dragon snapped out of his staring
“Eastern’s have a traditional way of naming, especially my family, guarding this lake for years and keeping the peace. Everyone calls me Saturn!” Her eyes focused on the splashes she was making with her paws
“I’ve never heard a name like that before. How do the eastern dragons name each other?” Nikoli unfolded his wings and relaxed the muscles
“Its by the first impression they’ve made on their world. I was doing so much back home, and could keep an aura of postivitity. So it was decided my name would be Saturn, that huge star you see in the sky. They said I could always keep a light on, whatever that means” Saturn rambled
Nikoli kept his full attention on her story, “So what would my name be, what kind of influence did I have?”
Saturn curled her tail around and let it waft in the stream, “Rain. You fell from the sky and came straight to the water, and nothing breaks the treeline except rain as heavy as you” She giggled tapping Nikoli’s armour with her fist.
Nikoli chuckled with her, “You got that right! Hard to nagivate with huge wings like these.” He unfolded one and let it wrap around the eastern, but not letting the feathers get too close.
Saturn stared and looked over the wing, top to bottom and eased into it, “Gorgeous wings! Just like the sun when it goes over the horizon. You must have taken the sky and put it on your back.”
Nikoli shook his head, he thought of his own wings reminiscent of The Flames. But took the compliment, and let out a small smile, “Thank you, but I grew them myself, didn’t take ‘em.”
Saturn gasped, “Really? I took my hair straight from the night sky, the stars, the swirling lines and all. I haven’t seen anything as pretty as your wings without taking directly from nature”
“The night sky? I’ve never seen it, always too dark and I’ve been on the move chasing the sun. What’s it like” Nikoli asked
“You’ve never seen it!? Ok, decided. To make up for your little crash, stay here and watch the night sky with me.” Saturn nearly jumped from where she sat, and idly put a hand on Nikoli’s arm
Nikoli couldn’t tell if the hand was intentional, or Saturn being absent-minded. But he was welcome to feeling the gentle touch of her. Still scared to break her, Nikoli kept his hand and arm still, but could feel the gentle warmth emitting from it. He forgot eastern dragons were warmblooded, and wanted to return the hold, but held himself back to not scare her. His eyes wandered from her hand to her beauty. The sparkling blue dress the perfectly matched her fur, the soft hair that flowed like the stream down to her tail tip. Nikoli was almost convinced they were the same, but could see the dots of bright lights along the fur. The dots lead all their way to her head and he could only stare in wonder.
Saturn caught Nikoli staring, “If you like my hair that much you’ll love the night sky!” Nikoli belongs to me
