It's almost obscure but I like the idea of such things persisting even in near future settings because they might fly under the radar of whatever new laws or tech they might have. Also being in a synthetic body this character wouldn't leave any biometric evidence and complete with the fact revolvers don't fling cases everywhere it'd be a great stealth tool for her.
And thanks! I still love this really grounded kind of retrofuture style. I'm big-time inspired by elements from Ghost in the Shell and similar near-future settings where there's mixes of current day elements and future tech.
