My half of a trade that you only get to see portions and itty-bitty samplings of. c.c I don't normally do this sort of thing, and I would love to post this in full, but I can't. My policy with trades is never to post the full final version until I've seen something in return. Maybe that seems unfair, but it's the only way to keep from pouring hours of work into a trade that uses up my supplies and just becomes a request cheated out of me. This is precisely why I do it that way: it's been just shy of 4 weeks since this trade was initialized (was supposed to be completed within 24-48 hours by both parties), and I still have only promises in return that work is being done.
My half's been finished for ages. If the trade ever gets completed, maybe you'll all actually get to see it in full. =P

Oh jeeze XDD You know, I'd totally forgotten about that. I think my printer died right about the time you sent me the sketch. I can probably still find it, or we can try again with something new if you like. I've got a nice reliable color laser printer and more time to be productive now.
oy. fully understandable...
I have two or three trades waiting here where I am waiting for something in return for several years. best thing is, I meet them occasionally at a con, where there shouldn't be a problem to find a place to squat and do their part of the trade... but all I get are promises.

Yeah, it sucks to get shafted. u.u I'm very open about art trades, and I rarely if ever require that the other person's skill level be anywhere close to mine... but that means sometimes I get bitten by people who have no intention of doing ANY work in return. It makes me not want to do trades at all.
Yeah, I've had that happen too. Usually as soon as someone starts talking art with me, I just link them to my pricing info and leave it at that. I've still been bitten a few times because I don't ask for money up front, but rather after the sketch is done. I don't feel TOO badly about that, since it's only prelim pencils, but it still sucks.
