Lioness in color

One of my last pictures from first era.
I'd say, it's my best artwork between 2003 and 2009.
Unfortunately I was told back then, that this picture is piece of garbage and I'm not the artist.
Looking back on it, I think there aren't much of mistakes. If I added more light and shadow, it would be almost perfect, but still it's good.
Also I had a very rough conversation with my parents like:
"There shouldn't be any artists in engineers family." And I had a choice: I may continue drawing, but I had to pack my belongings and leave parent's flat or stop this activiy and live with them.
I've chosen second option. But started focusing more on earning money to move to my own place of living.
Probably I did a mistake back then. I think, I'd should focus on drawing and not listen to anyone. On the other hand, after 2 years, I managed to change my place of living completely and as a result, focus on a drawing again.

Also opposites tend to create a harmony :)
As for parents, they have seen a fall of USSR and tried to survive during that rough times. They saw how artists, musicians, even actors became pennyless, so they still have a mindset, that all creative people are very poor, drink a lot and live in a slums. But times have changed, art is completely different than it was in 1980s, digital art has been born and artists are needed everywhere (movies, games, boardgames, ads, etc).
But I don't see any point of proving something to the old people: they have their own lives. Most importantly, that we should focus on our dream and do the things we love to do, no matter what others say.
