Roland’s life definitely took a turn after his change

After Beverley and his wife adopted him, it was decided that a different name would be good for his new life, and so his name became ‘Rowan’.

Bev and his wife had various children over the years, but they all turned out to be girls, and so the vast majority of children’s clothing they had stored away was feminine in nature, and though they could just as easily buy more clothing, Hazel -- Rowan’s new mother -- had reservations about the clothing they had going to waste. Not to mention the fact that their new son would look absolutely cute in the clothing.

For Rowan, he actually didn’t mind too much. After spending so many years in prison with the same boring and drab clothing, having anything else was better than nothing. Not to mention that in his former life, he had been a master thief who had no problem with wearing female disguises from time to time in order to do various jobs. If the clothes looked good on him, he was fine with it.

The school that he ended up enrolled in seemed strangely accepting of his way of dressing, and Rowan theorized that this was likely due to the school looking at this as an opportunity to appear inclusive, and to garner attention and publicity so that it could be seen as part of a plan to be fully accepting. Though it was initially a bit of a rocky start, as Rowan found himself being the target of a lot of initial teasing, and not just because of his dress style, but also the fact that he was stuck wearing diapers, of which was given a false explanation that he had severe weak bladder issues.

Despite this, Rowan quickly put up a facade to the other kids around him of being a ‘super friendly, cute, positive, and happy young kid’. He would constantly act peppy and excitable, as well as helpful and willing to volunteer for everything. This was, of course, all a ploy to trick everybody into liking him by being ‘so gosh darn friendly and adorable’. Though despite being an act, Rowan noted that the more he did this, the easier and more natural it seemed to feel.

Rowan could also be rather petty, and wasn’t above using his own magical girl powers to his advantage. He was fully willing to use his powers for minor revenge, and even utilize them if they were going to help him get ahead in a situation.
