We abscond to the local pub, where Forest has made a crash landing. He's healed himself back to stability. but as long as he's not going anywhere we can have our proceedings there.
Feelings are shared, enemies are discussed, and we are now at a point to openly show the town our TF philosophy.
There are SIX characters to vote on. Alex the Yinglet and Detective Morris are the most prominent ones, PR-wise. That said, this is the part where YOU suggest what people become, because there's a lot of side characters that need to change. The assembled cast have opinions on three of the characters.
Setting Silliness: I have never actually been inside the WhiteHorse/BlackHorse, but I do remember the name and the stupid horse statue it had as a sign. It's a very strange thing to name a pub.
The yinglet is by
karintina , and can be found over here. She draws good yings! Kestrel continues to be Twokinds.
I do not have artists tagged for the lion or nimbat, so if you know who they are please let me know!
I had hoped to have a nimbat sketch here, but I am poor so I can't really do much beyond trades. If it helps, here is an NSFW female version of the crash site that I pondered when making the scene.
MOOD MUSIC: Milkshakes with Our Foes
Job holding pattern! This is the week. I really, really hope they pick me for the job. I wanna know! *resists opening emails every 10 minutes to check*
Thank you very much to the people who donated, and especially so to the ones that donated big amounts.Bills are now DEALT WITH for the month. Rent is not, because let's face it rent is a lot. But I can get prescriptions and still have internet and power and all those good things that are needed to continue existing. The landlord can wait.
EDIT: Ahaha. Between 4 gallons of gas, internet, prescriptions, and car insurance, that $260 turned into $0.22 real fast. Being poor is expensive.
NOTE: Commissions are closed for the moment. I have 2.5 stories to do in that vein, which are rather long.

The new chapter's finally out! Whoo. Oh yeah, votes.
Alex: Humanoid. He doesn't want stick arms; we should respect that. The wishes of the transformee are what matter most.
Kyle: Make Friends. The yin and yang need each other, but at the same time they've probably grown too divergent to be merged back together cleanly.
Jasper: Pegasus. There's no need to complicate the transformation, and I don't think we've had a proper pegasus yet.
Jordan: He wants an exotic transformation, and Forest's suggestion is one of the more exotic ones. The only one more exotic is Strive's, but a living vehicle doesn't strike me as practical.
Rand: I'm siding with Strive on this one. It seems like the perfect compromise.
Morris: Out of all the suggestions, I think Dawn's is the most acceptable. The dude needs some authority.

I agree with you on all counts except the last one. For Morris, I choose Kestrel's suggestion, if only because we've had a trend of many characters being transformed into their true selves, strengths and weaknesses alike made apparent. Plus, changing a person's personality and/or mentality - even if it's for the better - is taboo in my book in most cases. The reason why I make an exception for Kyle is that the alternatives are arguably worse.
I'm going to post the Cliff's Notes of your votes here, so nobody else has to join a NSFW Discord channel to see your reasoning.
Alex: Humanoid. As I myself pointed out, the transformee's opinion is what matters most.
Kyle: Make Friends, with Split as a close second. It seems like the best call if they can learn to get along. It'd also be cool if they could temporarily split and re-merge at will.
Jasper: Swarm of Butterflies, with Pegasus as an alternative. Swarm would make him potentially versatile and downright neat, but would probably make it WAY more difficult for him to indulge in common human joys like reading a book.
Jordan: Combine Kestrel's and Strive's, but will settle for just Strive's. A bike-taur, or just a living vehicle, would be cool and possibly quite versatile, depending on how the sizeshifting works. (Partial counterpoint to my suggestion, here.)
Rand: Forest's. The most interesting, and reminiscent of a genie in a lamp. Maybe he'd be able to take shape from time to time.
Morris: Let Morris decide for himself if possible, after listening to everyone else's suggestions; he'd have the best idea of what he and possibly his family would be okay with. (Backup plan: Strive's. He needs authority, but the other options for it have unwanted takeaways.)
Bonus vote - Chief Berger: Inanimate - heavy weaponry. If he's willing to tear everything down to show his authority, then that's probably his true self.

For pretty much all the forms, I think I would like something reptilian for most of them. If that makes sense! And we should try to respect their wishes for everyone. So Alex should be humanoid I think! Kyle should probably become friends, avian for Jasper, Leon should decide on George I think! For Rand, Dawn's choice could be neat, while showing more acceptance of any being! Lastly, for Moris, I think Strive should take charge.
My first time with this, but lets have a shot at it
Alex: Humanoid, Just had a big fight, so should probably try to ease them into it a bit. Honey is better than Vinegar!
Kyle: Split. Think it will be more interesting, and means they can begin taking their own paths and develop their own ideas, which we can make use of in time
Jasper: Pegasus. Probably better to complete the spell to prevent any complications
Jordan: Forest strikes me as the most exotic, and does give him an opportunity to feel he's contributing. Could even have tf fruit?
Rand: I honestly have no strong opinion here, but lets throw for Tundra. Having a missionary isnt a bad shout, especially one who can go about a lot of places
Morris: Leon, honestly because I feel the gryphons might be our diplomats at this rate, and having Leon to relate to in form going forward might help him a lot

Time to discuss future plans. I just thought of something we should look into getting, preferably sooner rather than later.
We need someone who specializes in fixing things. Someone who can take Broken Things and turn them into The Same or Similar Things, But Less Broken.
A lot of collateral damage happened in this and recent chapters (can we get an F in the chat for the café's mosaic patio?), and there'll probably be more of the same in the future; helping to fix up what's been broken would be great PR for Embryon. Plus, a dedicated fixer would not only help to maintain the base and its assets, but would also be of value as a medic, even if only for more... inorganic patients, which I'm sure will become more common.
I reread the magic lecture in Chapter 11, and although it's still a bit confusing to me, I think repairing things without otherwise changing them is well within the realm of our magic system. Start with a [Broken Chair], surgically remove the [Broken], and be left with the [Chair], good as new. Might be a good field of study for Lilac, if she's still undecided; if not, we could bring in someone new to tackle the field.

Yeah, let's let Alex have Humanoid. This is a good chance to win over somebody on the fence. Maybe a whole bunch of somebodies.
Have Kyle Split. I'm worried, but curious - can we make two whole people from one? Or at least guide it to happening properly when the opportunity arises?
Avian for Jasper. Gotta love a nice colorful bird person. A parrot would be a good chassis for those green wings. Leave him a -person for now, he can keep going later as per his preference.
Forest's suggestion for Jordan is very interesting. There's deep magic in a big ol tree.
For Rand, I like Dawn's idea. It's a step towards our far-off ideal.
I do like the idea of letting everybody pitch to Morris in-character, but if he's feeling the Change coming on, we might not have time for him to properly consider. I like Kestrel's offer to make him something more true to who he already is, but I think Strive makes some good points as well.
