"High Bridge" on the old Southern mainline at Wilmore, KY just outside of Nicholasville. Built in 1870's the bridge on this sight was originally planned to be a monsterous suspension bridge but costs proved too prohibitive. Thus new engineering (at the time) called cantilever construction was used. When constructed this was the largest bridge of its type in the world and is still an impressive structure.
The photograph here only shows HALF the bridge in frame and also dosen't show that this is a double track structure.
