A recent picture of me from the 55 Year Mission Tour in Las Vegas Nevada. Our first con since the pandemic hit our radar, it was a welcome breath of fresh air.

It worked for defcon. Which was about a 5th of its normal size this year due to covid concerns. normally theres about 35 to 36k attendees. This year was just 9k and the reg. fee was 300 bucks. Honestly the space defcon used could probably host two to three of the biggest fur cons side by side.
Yeah, I don't know how big the Star Trek con was compared to the usual size but it seemed busy enough. In any case, I ask because next year the Star Trek convention is moving to Bally's for the year since I believe I heard that the Rio is switching owners and is going through renovations, so next year it will be in a new hotel (for us).
Yeah, it was a welcome diversion from the usual routine for sure, especially since in 2020 we hardly got to do anything social, save for TFF which was right before we started hearing about COVID. And Star Trek is the one con a year I don't really do much costuming though I did have a Starfleet uniform!
We deemed it reasonably safe, as we were both vaccinated, wore masks on the plane and such, and they required both proof of vaccination or failing that two negative COVID tests during the con, so I felt pretty safe, plus they took a lot of precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy, I thought they did remarkably well, considering.
