Anatomy: Hawk is a seasoned Staraptor warrior, hardened in several fights and toughened up through several years of training and combat, this being shown in his strong lest muscles and powerful beak, strong enough to tear through many types of materials and flesh. Hawk’s body shows many different scars, from his beak to his left thigh, to both of his claws, vestiges of some of his previous skirmishes and trials.
Although he’s still young compared to other bird Pokémon, his feathers already show signs of aging, with the outer ones sporting a lighter shade of white instead of the usual grey of his species. His blue eyes are also one of his trademarks, known for bringing fear to many an opponent on the battlefield, scaring them off, and spreading to other corners of the land the tales of his abilities.
As the leader of his tribe, Hawk always downs the symbol of the Raptor tribe, the feathers of fire and sea, representing the entire populace of birds the compose the members of the regions but also said to be gifts from Ho-Oh and Lugia themselves, blessing the Avian village with plentiful flights.
Personality: As expected as the leader of an entire tribe, Hawk is stern, stoic, of few words, and in most situations, others could call him cold. But if any would doubt his love for the village, they would receive the scolding of a lifetime from their peers.
As the Hawk, his duty is to ensure that his people are always safe, well-fed, and happy, a responsibility he took with all of his energy. From the rising of the sun to the high of the moon, his watchful eyes are always staring at the people he must protect, flying from one point to another to solve diverse issues, from simple lack of supplies from their plantations to surveillance of the wall’s surroundings to make sure no intruder was attempting to bring harm to the avians, to training the young, showing his great ability and inspiring them to get as good or even better than him. He loves the Raptor Tribe, and he will use every ounce of his being to make sure nothing bad ever comes to those who claim to be one.
But even for someone as stern and hard to get a reaction from as Hawk, there is something that can show his softer side, or in this case, someone. His twin brother, Dove, a Staravia, always brightens up his mood, making him smile a lot whenever the two are together, although Hawk tries not to let others see him like that in public.
Abilities: Hawk is, without Hyperbole, the strongest individual in the entirety of the Raptor Tribe, maybe the strongest in the entire region. With his hardcore training since a Sparrow when he was a little Starly, he kept toughening up, becoming extremely powerful in a diverse set of skills, such as Spear-Wielding, supply-carrier, rescuer, infiltrator, and among many others.
His Combat moves include Double Team, being able to make copies of himself to trick his opponent and lower their guard, Agility, which immensely boosts his already great speed, making him really hard to catch for the untrained eye, Close Combat, using his powerful talons to thrash any enemy stupid enough to get too close to him, and the trademark skill of the Hawk, the move that only those that achieve it can become the Hawk of the Tribe, Brave Bird, using his entire bird to descend upon the enemy and destroy them on one fell swoop, although with the cost of a hefty strain on his body.
Lifestyle: The day-to-day life as the leader of the Tribe can be monotonous, but still very important for him to do. Hawk will go through every single important building in the Village to make sure everything is in order, besides going to meetings with the Vultures to strategize and assess the current situations their borders find themselves in. But whenever that’s over, Hawk always comes back to his nest to find Dove waiting for him with a smile, proud of his bigger twin-brother, doing what he can’t for the both of them, and becoming such a splendid male.
History: Among the many eggs that were born during the summer, the two Sparrows Starlys were born amid the biggest hatching season the tribe had ever seen, with over 100 eggs hatching in a single day. That raised the morale of the entire village, many of the Doves and Condors saying that was a blessing of Ho-oh himself, bringing to them the strongest batch the village would ever witness, and in hindsight, there was some truth to those statements.
Although they were twins, the same species, and born from the same nest, the two Starlys couldn’t be more different from each other. The one that hatched first (which would become the Hawk in the future), was strong, agile, quick-thinking and above all, exuded a strong sense of leadership rarely seen in Sparrows. His twin, on the other hand, was the complete opposite, he couldn’t fight properly, stumbling whenever he tried to kick, he wasn’t agile, and none of his brother's qualities, and that only became more apparent when the time for The Jump had arrived.
As expected of the prodigy Starly, he flew for the first time in the windless ridge like a leaf on the sea breeze, he had the grace and fierceness every member of the tribe desired in their youth. But the poor overshadowed twin discovered the worst possible thing in the worst possible moment. When he jumped and opened his wings to fly, he instead quickly descended to the bleak abyss below, which would spell certain death for him if not for his talented brother had saved him mid-fall, bringing him back safely. Although the older twin was relieved, the tribe members observing the situation weren’t so enthusiastic. A Sparrow who couldn’t fly in the windless gorge hadn’t been born in over three hundred springs, which usually spelled a bad omen to come to their home. It was a custom to let the flightless die as a sacrifice to the windless abyss, guaranteeing the lack of currents in their region and making sure their ranks would remain strong, but before any of that could come to mind, the older Sparrow was protecting his twin from the prying eyes of the onlookers. It was obvious to any seeing that if they wanted to get rid of the weak ones, they would have to get rid of the strong as well, and that was a risk they weren’t willing to take, and so, they left the two be.
With the passing of the springs, both twins had evolved into Staravias, their size becoming significantly bigger, and so their reputation around the tribe. Although the prodigy twin managed to easily attain the rank of Condor, his brother wasn’t so fortunate, having to remain on the Dove name for the remainder of the season. Within the next three springs, Dove would try again and again to become a Condor, but with his flightless form, he could never catch up to his brother’s ranks, and so, he remained at his current position.
Many in the Tribe knew about the twins, about how both of them were and how they couldn’t be more different from each other, how the Dove was useless and the Condor should just abandon his weak kin. It was something the Condor had to hear every day, without saying a word. He knew they were wrong, but he didn’t care, his brother and the safety of the members of the tribe came first for him.
During a harsh winter, in which the Condor twin had received the rank of Owl, he was on a scouting patrol during a severe windless hail, ice hitting his wings whenever he flew throughout the gorge. It was a hard job, and he was the only Owl sturdy enough to scout during such weather. During his reckon, he saw lights in the middle of the windless storm. As he approached, his throat became dry as a Palosand, recognizing those lights as torches, and the ones holding them canine fire types, members of the ScorchFang Tribe.
Most of the Condors and Owls were stationed inside closed spaces, they wouldn’t be able to see the canines coming, and even if they knew, they wouldn’t be able to fight properly in that weather. And even those few Owls brave enough to stay on the outside, wouldn’t be enough to protect the tribe, and Doves could become injured in the crossfire between the two forces, in the end, the Prodigy Owl only had one choice. With quick use of his beak, he lit up the fire on the rope, slowly getting closer to the incandescent cluster of minerals. He used all of his forces to throw the cluster with his claws to the air, and as he did, lighting up in the sky with a shower of sparkly yellow fire, hopefully alerting the tribe to their predicament, away from the borders, but most importantly, he knew that would get the attention of the raiding team bellow, which now eyed him with bloodlust, ready to roast him a new one.
The Owl Staravia led the invaders to a spot only those in the Owl rank or above would know, the training cave. A really tight cave filled to the brim with stalactites and tight corridors. This was usually a cave used to test the endurance and reflex capabilities of a member, but that day, it would be used to eliminate all that wanted to bring harm to the tribe. Over forty torches had entered the cave in pursuit of the Staravia. But from over forty souls that entered that cave, only two would leave alive, for the Owl Staravia moved as one in the shadow, abusing the members whenever they thought they had the sight of him, quickly slitting their throats in a long war of attrition. Things seemed to be going well until the last invader was targeted, a freakishly large Houndoom with fangs as sharp as the tip of a spear. Whenever the Staravia tried to close in on him, the canine would retaliate with a barrage of fire, not letting him approach.
That continued for many and many hours until the bird realized that it was hopeless to try and defeat him like the others, he would have to go in close, even if it meant giving his enemy the chance of killing him. With one heavy breath, he dove in, being quickly hit by a hot as lava Flamethrower, but he didn’t stop, he went through the barrage of fire until he was right on top of the Houndoom, bringing his talons down to go for his throat. But instead of his claws hitting flesh, the Staravia felt sharp teeth around it, the Houndoom having predicted the movement and countered it with a nasty bite.
In a quick motion, the canine brought the bird lower with his jaws, and then used both of his sharp claws to bring out blood from the avian enemy, making him bleed profusely from his claws, tight and even his beak. With heavy breathes, the Owl jumped back, pain overwhelming his senses as he could feel how deep those cuts actually were. He wouldn’t be able to use his claws anymore in that fight, at least not with any kind of actual force behind it. As his mind slowly started to give up, his memory brought forth something, a move he was training but had failed over and over, without a hint of success. But it was his only chance. The bird quickly rose up to the top of the cave, and before the Houndoom could properly make another flamethrower towards him, he was diving back, but not with his talons at the front, but instead with his beak.
As he descended, a sudden warmth covered his entire body, as if the ancestors themselves were blessing his fight. Around him light consumed his entire body, not only from the new skill, but from a new form, his feathers grew bigger and his body as well, as he reached his pinnacle of evolution, a Staraptor, as he quickly advanced upon the hell dog, who was trying to burn down the incoming threat, but not even a Flamethrower could withstand the legacy of his people, a newly evolved Brave Bird.
The tip of his beak reached the Houndoom’s belly, piercing his skin and splashing blood all around. The Owl’s light receded and he turned back to finish his opponent, when a sudden burst of pain consumed his entire being, making him pass out on the spot. For a brief moment, the Houndoom saw the opportunity and considered killing the wretched bird who made such a nasty wound on him, but he started hearing voices from one of the ways behind, probably reinforcements from that large light the bird had summoned hours ago.
The Houndoom managed to escape, but the remaining bodies of his enemies were another story. The Owl Staraptor woke up two days later, being briefed of all that happened, and how he had saved that tribe and Arceus knows how many lives in the process. For such an act of Bravery and demonstration of power, the old Hawk, now an old but still intimidating Braviary, passed down his feathers to the brave warrior, giving him the honor of Hawk, the leader of the Raptor Tribe.
Relationships: Hawk’s relationship with Dove is that of pure and undying adoration. Since being hatched, even if his brother wasn’t the strongest, Hawk loved to dote on him, giving him pats, hugs, kisses, and all sorts of signs of caring, something he never did to any other member of the tribe, even though he still cared about them all.
Even in the saddest and most low spirit days, there’s not a single time that being in the presence of Dove doesn’t cheer up Hawk’s spirits, granting him the strength to go forward. Both share the Hawk’s hut, always sleeping on the same nest cuddling next to each other. He loves his little twin brother, and nothing could keep the two apart.
Current status: Hawk currently still lives at the Hawk house in the Raptor tribe, deep inside the Windless Gorge, taking care of his people and establishing relations with people from nearby civilizations so they can trade and prosper with their neighbors.
Likes: Discipline, Strength, Courage, Improvement, Peace, His brother.
Dislikes: Wars, bloodshed, self-pity, treason.
His Tribe: The Raptor Tribe is a village consisting mainly of bird Pokémon deep inside the Windless Gorge, the most desolate place in the entire Tribal Region.
The Windless Gorge is a region covered from all sides by large mountains, going so high that not many bird Pokémon can make the trip to the top. Because of being completely surrounded by it, no wind whatsoever blows in the region, something that would usually spell death for a tribe of Bird Pokémon. But, since birth, all tribe members are taught to fly in such harsh conditions, as if they could create their own wind by themselves. It wasn’t easy, but that meant they became superior fliers to much other bird pokémon around the Tribal Region.
The Tribe is a mostly peaceful place, known for its vigorous training routine since a member’s birth, but still teaching the importance of balance with nature. No members own what others call “names”, but among them, they possess titles for how strong or for which importance they take in the village
Sparrow: The newly born, the trainees, who will spend their next following years training and improving their physic, until it comes the times they have to spread their wings in the Windless Gorge and fly without the wind, a tough training for which many don’t go that far besides flying.
Dove: They are the Sparrows who either couldn’t become Condors with their physical abilities or settled for that post of their own preference. Most of the tribe consists of Doves, including many different kinds of posts like Health-carer, Planter, Weaponsmith, Merchant, and many other positions that need to be filled which don’t necessarily need military training.
Moa: The Honorary members of the Tribe. They’re Pokémon born outside of the village, but by becoming close friends with the inner circles or showing great achievements for their place, they are bestowed the titles as one of their own. They can’t advance to other posts as other members born in the tribe, but they are still seen as kin around those at the village, even if the Moa isn’t necessarily a Bird Pokémon.
Condor: The military force of the Raptor Tribe, where most of the warriors reside. The ones who have passed the Dove test become part of their guard, protecting the village and ensuring peace is kept no matter the cost.
Owl: The strongest warriors in the village are given such titles, and especially given special missions with great importance. They are usually kept around the Hawk, for whenever an urgent situation happens, they can answer in a wing beat.
Vulture: The Elders, the ones who served as Own in their prime and decided to still serve the Hawk as their advisor, bringing their elderly wisdom to discussions and plannings for whatever kind of move they might have to make in the future. Hawks who outlive their time usually take said title.
Hawk: The leader of the tribe. The most important post. The strongest warrior of them all, the bravest, and above all, the one that must keep their safety at all costs. They have complete and utter authority and must do whatever they see fit to keep the Raptor Tribe alive.
External views: Among all the different tribes in the Tribal Region, the Raptor Tribe is known for being one of the strongest and one of the fairest. Although even their Doves are capable of defeating average trained soldiers from other tribes, they don’t look after riches or the pleasures of the flesh after the others, they only seek to live a humble life in their village, but are ready to fight to the death to protect their lifestyle.
The Raptor Tribe is also one of the few known tribes that actively do trade with the Civilized folk, trading their local resources such as prime animal meat, special grains, and special medicines in trade for needed technology from the City folk, like Generators, Long distance communication devices, processed food, and sharpened weaponry. They have a symbiotic relationship, willing to better their views with each other and improve their peace situation.
Current society: The world of Hetra could be divided into two different sides: The Civilized society, and the Tribal society. Both live in their own corner, usually divided by enforced borders so they can keep each other in check.
The Civilized World is very technological, with giant buildings of metal and glass, houses for each individual Pokémon or family, stores, and gigantic amounts of entertainment. But in contrast, most Pokémon born in the Civilized world are not strong, for they weren’t trained in hardship like the ones in the Tribal Region.
The Tribal region is a more chaotic place, with tons of different tribes with different customs, some with merchant focus, others with conquest goals, and others who only want to burn stuff and raid as many villages and people as they can.

This was a wonderful commission I got from
, who made an absolute amazing job on my boy.
I've wanted to upload this for a while now, but had been busy with comms and other irl stuff, but got a burst of mitvation to finally write it all in the last few days.
It might be a bit too much for a description, I know, but I really wanted to make justice to my bird boyo.
I have plans for stories and commissions for him on the future, so if you like him, be sure to stick around :3

, who made an absolute amazing job on my boy.I've wanted to upload this for a while now, but had been busy with comms and other irl stuff, but got a burst of mitvation to finally write it all in the last few days.
It might be a bit too much for a description, I know, but I really wanted to make justice to my bird boyo.
I have plans for stories and commissions for him on the future, so if you like him, be sure to stick around :3
