Here is my newest Pokémon drawing, and I decided to rock with a Sinnoh Pokémon this time -- it's Buizel!

-- He traveled from the faraway Resort Area to Valor Lakefront in order to release some stress. He was hanging around at the beach resort lane at said Valor Lakefront, located in the South-East part of Sinnoh, when he saw something sparkling in the sand. It was a Water Stone! And a little further away, there was what Buizel assumed to be a Quick Claw in the sand! How could these things end up here? Buizel didn't see any people or even other Pokémon playing at this beach; not even Chelsea nor Jared were hanging around -- the two kids and soon-to-be-students who used to run around at this place and occasionally challenged someone in a Battle. Maybe they already went to college, or they were on a vacation to Alola or something? With their old trusty inner tubes? Besides that, the only other actual Pokémon he saw were a Pelipper and a Wailord, flying and drifting by respectively. Buizel picked up both the Water Stone and the Quick Claw, and headed for the resort lane just north of the Valor beach, opening the first blue door of a house that was once used for checking in at the hotel. The nappy pants Buizel was wearing was soft and comfy, and it crinkled as he walked forwards on his hind legs, in the direction of the other exit of the check-in room. For the first time since walking through Route 210 two months ago, Buizel kind of started to feel alone. He sure had a great chance to enjoy a beautiful view from the wooden bridge leading to Celestic Town, but when you're the only one around, there's not much to enjoy really. Finally, after climbing just a few stairs, Buizel arrived at the restaurant, located all the way at the end of the lane. He patted with a fin on his nappy and pushed the door open. ''H-Hello...?'', Buizel shouted nervously. All of the tables present at the restaurant were empty. There was no woman who introduced the guests to the restaurant either. Just pure silence... This was getting creepy. Buizel could just barely notice a Shellos slithering out of a dark corner from underneath one of the far left tables and exiting the restaurant. ''Eh... h-hello? Where IS everybody?'', Buizel asked, almost whispering. The snail-like Pokémon turned around to face the orange weasel, and said: ''I think you should be at the Villa in the Resort Area, friend. I heard a lonely Cherubi decided to live there after he was driven out of the Game Corner in Veilstone City by some total jerks'' 'Aw, man', was the first thing Buizel thought, 'the Resort Area? But that's actually where I came from!' ''B-But...'', Buizel continued, ''I... I found these-... Aww, man...'' The crinkling of his nappy pants could be heard as Buizel turned himself around and walked away, down the lane and down the stairs once again. It was getting late, and the sky filled with thin clouds was starting to turn a pinkish orange. It was then when Buizel looked around one of the cottages found next to the lane, and noticed a small but very deep hole with a ladder attached to it, deeply hidden within the grass that, accompanied by the sky, gave this area an almost apocalyptic feel, now that literally nobody was around. ''That must lead to the Underground...!'', Buizel suddenly recalled, ''the network of tunnels where fortune seekers and miners used to go when it was discovered by pure accident...'' He looked at the Water Stone and the Quick Claw he was now holding in his right fin both at the same time: ''So, ...THAT'S where these things comes from...'' He had heard SOME stories of people going underground in pursuit of treasures -- in fact, he came to know about it ever since his mother, a female Floatzel, told him about it all -- but Buizel never thought he would stumble upon one of the remaining entrances by himself... He decided to give it a chance, and climbed down the ladder, which turned out to be less stable than it appeared. He didn't bring a bag, nor a helmet with one of those fancy lamps built into it; but Buizel knew, that whenever he encountered a Rock or Ground type that stood in his way, he would undoubtedly be able to sweep it away with an Aqua Jet or at least a well-aimed Water Gun. And if he needed a diaper change, he would at all times be capable of leaving the Underground and make his way to either Veilstone City or Pastoria City. But for the time being, Buizel could do his own thing and dig for treasures. The only thing he was kind of disappointed about, was Shellos from back at the restaurant not being around here anymore to help him out. Though it wouldn't take THAT long to find his equally shy new friend back.

I decided on a story that was again set in Sinnoh, since that's the nostalgic region for the both of us. I thought of Water types, and Buizel instantly came to mind. So I centered around him discovering things. Pretty standard stuff as far as Pokémon short stories go. (^_^)
I think I used one when fighting Flint during the Elite Four, a Floatzel of roughly Level 60 or 70.
Though I really do think it's a bit stupid that they didn't give the Sinnoh Fire type Elite Four member, more Pokémon of his Type Specialty. I know the Platinum Dex fixed this later on, but still. 🤷♂️

Already noticed the Wailord and Pelipper silhouettes in the background? I decided to give the piece a bit more depth by making it more inhabited by different kinds of Pokémon. Though not too many, since the setting of the story is rather silent and even a bit depressing in my opinion, further indicated by the part where Buizel looks into the pink-and-orange sky above the resort lane.
Thank you! Buizel is one of my favorite Gen 4 Pokémon, even though Gen 4 isn't my favorite generation. The games are notoriously slow, but the region features plenty of interesting locations, like Eterna Forest, the Underground, Valor Lakefront and Floaroma Town. Platinum is even better, since it fixes some weird inconsistencies in regards to the story of the games, and gives many locations an overhaul, like Floaroma Town, the volcanic areas of Stark Mountain, and the Great Marsh. I especially love the fact that in Platinum, you can get your very own villa in the Resort Area and play an alternate version of the Lilycove City theme from Gen 3!
