Honestly, it's kinda sad to think he forgot someone so important to his previous life. It's sad from two perspectives. One as a pet owner, if my cats just completely forgot me it'd be devastating, though I recognize that the Captain kinda doesn't exist any longer. On the other hand, if I just forgot about the people important to my life, I feel it'd be sad. I know my reaction is as an outside observer and that if I were in either character's shoes, I'd be no different. How can I be sad over someone I don't remember?
Still though, I found this a lot more depressing of a read than I was anticipating.

It's the downside to some of the things that this person commissions. They are inventive ideas for getting some new stories started, buuuuuut they're always focused on the TF and never move forward, and they always want the humans either forgotten or pushed off to the side, all focus on the animals. It's not bad as a one-off, but it does become irksome and depressing after a number of the same thing.
Nice work.
Still hope one day ehh123 will get a long series of his own without the humans just erase.
