It's my first based cheetah character, some time in the future I'll probably give her a name once I do some design tweaks.
(ultimately this is the result of my 'I dunno what I wanna draw so I'll browse art for inspiration' cycle so pose resemblances to a more famous drawing might be present)

The earliest animations were done by newspaper cartoonists. Winsor McCay is one of my heroes. His Little Nemo is one of the best-known early comic strips, and his Gertie the Dinosaur is certainly a major turning point in early animation. His work even inspired Walt Disney.
A number of British humor magazines, Punch being just one of them, helped define modern comic style in the late 19th Century. Much before that, even humorous magazine illustrations were quite detailed -- think Sir John Tenniel of Alice in Wonderland fame. Frames were crammed with intense (if unneeded) details. Early comics like Richard F. Outcault's The Yellow Kid and Rudolph Dirks' The Katzenjammer Kids led the simplification of comic art to where it is today.
