Something I've always enjoyed the thought of is that human emotion translates across the many various different species and characters that we, as humans, have created. While the reality of such things would most likely be far different, it's nice to imagine that a smile would have the same meaning for everyone. A pleasant warmth that allows everyone to know that you are happy to see them, that things will be okay, and that life is worth living.

I like to think that Hirith are the same way. Friendly gestures for the people that we want to keep in our lives.
