I dunno, I thought "why not go full dog/bear + pretty bird" and voilà (less bear, more bird). Don't expect it to be perfect anatomy, I sketched them from memory, also it could be otherwise inaccurate maybe, so don't use it as an example of accurate paleo art or something. Except you're an actual paleontologist and like it, then I'd be very proud. xD
I personally don't even think Tyrannosaurus rex could be that colourful, but as long as it's not proven otherwise, this could actually be possible. Somehow I really really urgently want to know how exactly they looked and behaved, but on the other hand, if you're a paleo artist, you have lots of creative freedom, a slong as nobody knows for sure.
