My Second Blender Render
This is the famous donut tutorial by The Blender Guru on YouTube. It wasn't the easiest or the fastest tutorial, and it did indicate how different Blender's interface Philosophy is, as com0pared to Maya, which is where I am coming from. But, I stuck with it, and com0leted it. I will probably spend most of the next month doing tutorials of various kinds so that I can walk the trail to learn the route, so to speak. Still the program feels very deep, and it's very full featured, though every feature is somewhere behind a context sensitive hot key. I will keep plugging away, until I can do "art", and other paying work on this platform.

As deep as it seems to go, it goes far, far deeper. Modeling, sculpting, materials and rendering is only a fraction of what can be done.. wait to you look into the compositor, animation, 2D, and game engine pipelines. Blender is almost an entire production studio.. there is half as much more to be seen in the experimental features.
Once you've got the basics, focus on learning the purpose of each tool, instead of the steps to acheive a result.
There are soany useful add-ons that are not enabled by default, especially in the mesh category.

Well any advice on further tutorials would be gratefully accepted. I plan on spending the rest of September on tutorials. Then see what I can do afterwards. I am treqating it like "The Company" dropped some new software on us to learn. Though It took me opnly a week to learn the basics of Maya. Thank god for YouTube University.
30day trial on https://www.cgcookie.com that's where I got my start back in 2010 they've got a fairly free library.

I looked back and realized that it's technically for an older version of Blender, but here it is anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi87Dap_WOc
It might still work, though.

While this is for an older version of blender, it's still one of my favorite tutorials.
I have it playing in the background when I'm modeling things, and I use it for all species, not just dinosaurs.
Hopefully it can bring you some use :>
