Another song. I'm happy with this one. It was originally designed to be a background song in a game, but I'm not sure if it fits anymore. There were a LOT of first times for me in this one. It's the first time I get to use a xylophone. I love xylophones. It was the first time I tried to make the drum beat subtle and take up very little space, as I usually like a pretty fat beat with strong bass. It was the first time I intentionally messed with frequencies to make the song blend in/pop out more at different times. It's also the first time I use QuadraSID in an actual song. It was also the first time I used such a funky bassline, as well as the stereotypical trancey one.
I chose the name because I wanted the song to partially convey the cold feel of the level in the game I meant it to be in. But the longer I went on, the less cool the song felt. I kept in the random bright xylophones (which everyone, for some reason, associates with ice levels in games) and added a really subtle wind effect as well as a crackling I actually recorded from my freezer... but I doubt anyone would notice that.
Made with FruityLoops 3.6, FL Studio 6 and Audacity. Because the QuadraSID plugin refuses to export properly in FL3.6...
