Author's Note: I wrote the entire 'Those Blessed' mini-arc as a sort of exploration of my own experiences with Christianity, as well as a sort of 'what if' scenario.
To keep it very short, Elian Furtael represents what many preachers become: They feed off of the faith of others for their own gain.
Conversely, Basha exists sort of as what I had honestly wished I'd had during my own crisis of faith: Someone who was not only faithful, but discerning and understanding, someone who could tolerate questions and give guidance no matter my beliefs.
Being a pagan who doesn't follow any specific deity, it's an interesting challenge to imagine a surface-level similar faith and what a good holy man would be.
The arc also posits the logical result of winding up on a world with actual tangible Gods. How long would even the staunchest atheist last before they found a God worth worshiping?
