Not always. Sometimes it was to torture people on hunger strikes, or they'd force them to drink water until they drowned.

I haven't played it either but she's in the promo art and its a tactical war game so i guess she lost her arm in combat.

Sounds like a logical conclusion for defeated players in that game, given the whole plot is about animals fighting to turn other aninals into meat or avoid becoming said meat xD
