In illustration class last year, I ended up completely screwing up the background of this watercolor + mixed media study of a stegosaurus figure that I have. Left with no other option, I cut it out with an x-acto knife and was left with this.
Since then, it's become sort of a tradition for me to cut out the subjects from watercolor paintings that I screw up the backgrounds of. The resulting cutouts are surprisingly endearing.
Done with microns, watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, and acrylic ink (in that order of application).

One thing that I always wanted as a kid was a dinosaur pop-up book. I imagined it to have little sliders on the bottom where you could move the Velociraptor pack around the Tenontosaurus as they surround they circle their prey.
Sadly the only pop-up book I would ever own was about frogs.

I had a dinosaur pop-up book with sliders and everything. The dinosaurs all looked kind of retarded though; it was made in what looks like the early-mid eighties back when scientists apparently thought all dinosaurs walked around dragging their tails and going "a-durrrr." I bet it's still in my house somewhere.
